With sophomore year of college approaching with a rapid pace, I can't help but wonder just what I accomplished this summer... I'm leaning towards nothing.
Well, I scored a job, which was good. Money is good.
I've been drawing a lot more. I improved on that front quite a bit, which makes me feel pretty good.
I haven't written anything.
I lost weight.
I pissed people off.
I chilled with the best.
I broke things.
I fixed things.
I planned things.
I slept instead of doing said planned things.
Eh.

Unwaivering

My past often comes to bite me in the ass. I'm not the same girl I was a few years ago, and while that scares me, it also lifts my soul to know that I'm going to make it in the world. I used to harbor regrets and bitterness, but I have to forgive and forget in order to free myself, and hope that those whom I have affected in negative way may someday find themselves able to do the same.

Memento mori. We are not eternal, and life is too god damn short.

I guess not anymore.

As I sit here, lazing the day away with a close friend, listening to the soulful stylings of Erykah Badu, wondering where the hell she disappeared to for all of these years, I can't help but wonder why the hell I'm making this blog.

Okay, so here's the deal. I made this blog to join a writing community with some friends in order to polish my rusty writing skills. Ha, I mean look at me. I'm a writing major who hasn't written anything worthwhile in about eight months. Here's to the old college try, eh?
